Counseling De-Mystified

Many people hear the words counseling or therapy and think of endless hours spent on a couch talking about their mother. They often see counseling as a last-ditch effort and spend a lot of time suffering through overwhelming emotions and difficult relationships before seeking professional help. The truth is counseling is simply a way to get an outside perspective from a trained professional on a problem that has someone stuck. My goal in this blog is to take the stigma out of mental health counseling and show just how beneficial counseling can be for relationship problems, career concerns, family issues, and just dealing with the stress of every day life.

I will provide tips on how to live a happier and whole life by applying some simple steps that can bring about great change. Remember, we are responsible for our own happiness and we are the only ones who can make the choices for a more fulfilling life. Try starting each day by focusing on something good. No matter how much bad there is in our lives, there is always something good. Today, I dare you to find the one good thing and focus on it and see if it doesn't make you feel better.
